If you’re looking to become a driving instructor in Nottingham, training in a busy city environment can give you a real professional advantage. Nottingham offers a wide range of driving conditions — from city-centre traffic and tram routes to fast dual carriageways and residential suburbs — making it an excellent place to develop strong instructional skills.
Our Nottingham driving instructor training is designed to prepare you for real-world teaching, not just passing the ADI tests.
Why Train as a Driving Instructor in Nottingham?
Nottingham has a consistently high demand for driving lessons, which creates excellent long-term earning potential for newly qualified instructors. Training here allows you to gain experience with:
Busy city traffic and complex junctions
Tram lines, bus lanes and multi-lane roundabouts
Suburban and commuter routes
Dual carriageways and higher-speed roads
This variety helps you become a confident, adaptable instructor capable of teaching learners at all levels.
All training is provided by an ORDIT-registered, Grade A driving instructor trainer with over 20 years of experience. You’ll receive structured, one-to-one coaching tailored to your progress and confidence level.
Training covers all three ADI qualification stages:
ADI Part 1 – Theory & Hazard Perception
Full preparation for the DVSA exams, including study guidance and mock testing.
ADI Part 2 – Driving Ability
Advanced driving tuition focused on accuracy, safety, and consistency in urban conditions.
ADI Part 3 – Instructional Ability
Learn how to teach effectively in real Nottingham traffic situations, including lesson planning, pupil management, and risk awareness.
Local Knowledge & Practical Experience
Training takes place on real Nottingham routes, helping you understand:
Common test routes
Local traffic patterns
Typical learner challenges in city driving
This practical knowledge gives you a head start once you qualify and begin teaching independently.
Part Three examines your ability to teach people to drive, it lasts for one hour and will involve you carrying out a driving lesson with a client whilst being observed by an examiner.

Want to try a sample session?
A popular option for those considering taking up training as a Driving Instructor, is to try a sample training session before fully committing to the process.
This gives an insight into aspects of both part 2 and part 3 training.
The great news is, if you do decide you want to embark on the path of training to be a Driving Instructor, you can deduct the amount paid for the sample session from the overall cost of your course. If you decide it’s not for you, the most you’ll lose is the cost of the session!
The cost of the sample session is £99.00 for three hours.
