Conflicting advice? Get clear answers before you commit.
Comparing instructor-training courses can be confusing. Headline prices, earnings figures and promises of quick qualification don’t always explain what you’ll receive. You deserve to understand the training, the costs and who will actually be teaching you.
Honesty and integrity come first.
We’ll explain what we offer, what costs extra and what we cannot promise. Ask difficult questions, compare your options and take time to decide. Your training should begin with an informed choice.
You’re investing in a career, not simply buying a course.
Becoming a fully qualified driving instructor can open the door to a long-term career with good earning potential. The value of your training lies in how well it prepares you for qualification and the work beyond it. A course that appears cheap can become an expensive mistake if it leaves you underprepared, paying for substantial extra training or abandoning your goal before qualifying.
Know your actual trainer
Your instructor training is with Jon Shaw, a Grade A instructor and ORDIT-registered trainer. You can discuss your needs with the person delivering your training before you commit.
Compare what the price includes
A low headline price alone doesn’t tell you the value of a course. Check the practical training allocation, whether sessions are individual or shared, and the costs of additional training, materials and car use. We’ll explain our package clearly.
Understand the support available
Ask how sessions are arranged, how feedback is given and what happens if you need further development. We’ll agree training priorities with you and discuss gaps in your skills as they arise.
Keep earnings claims in perspective
Lesson income is not the same as take-home pay. Vehicle costs, insurance, travel, unpaid time and local demand all affect your business. We’ll discuss the practical realities without promising an income.
Be realistic about qualification
Progress depends on developing the required skills and passing the assessments. Part 2 and Part 3 test availability can also extend the process. We don’t guarantee a pass or a fixed qualification date.
Keep control of your future
There is no tie-in contract or requirement to work with us after qualification. You choose your next step, and we have support available if your aim is to establish yourself independently.
Check the commitment beyond the training price.
Before accepting discounted training linked to a franchise, check the minimum term, ongoing fees, notice requirements and early-exit conditions. A long-term agreement can involve substantial costs and be difficult or expensive to leave. Consider the total commitment, not just the initial saving.
Our training does not require you to enter a long-term franchise agreement or stay with us after qualification. Your future working arrangements remain your choice.
Already paid for training elsewhere and unsure where you stand? Tell us about your experience, current stage and any assessment feedback. We’ll discuss whether our support would be suitable.

Read more instructor-training reviews on Yell →Jon has been an excellent ADI Part 3 trainer. His input has been viable in learning the skills required to pass the exam.
The training was well structured and easy to follow with sessions linked to DVSA standards. I felt much more confident delivering lessons even before passing the exam. I passed the Part 3 in my first attempt and will highly recommend training with Jonathan to become a driving instructor.
